Handy Hints : 1/. 1cbm = 1m x 1m 1m ! 2/. We give more than we say! & allow inspection 3/. Use old tea bags socked in diesel for fire starters. Wrap 2 tea bags in a sheet of newspaper? 4/. Use old bark for kindling. We also have cut small manuka branches for starting fires for sale. 5/. You can buy fire lighters at Bunnings, Mitre 10 & Supermarkets as well 5/. We sell by the cbm [ cubic metre not chord ]1 chord = 3.6cbm?
MACROCARPA Mac. Water does not penetrate Mac unlike Pine so once ringed and split is fine. Please note Mac does spit so only ideal for enclosed wood fires & is sometimes hard to start so best to use once your fire is up and burning. Our trees have been down well over 1.6 years.
Our 2026 stack of firewood Is it worth doing firewood today. Based on an hour rate not really. The cost for fuel alone & cartage is over the roof now. Chainsaw service can cost min $300-$800 then you have to buy bars & chains need changing after 2-4 trees dropped/ moved/delimbed/split/loaded & wait till it all dries. Then you need machines to carry them out & a wood splitter to split then stack. Once thats over then you have to pay diesel or fuel costs to cart & each mile you pay RUCs & wear & tear. All costs money but thats the breaks yet people want cheap & never think of how hard it is!!!. Yet we pay $11.80 for a big mac & line up quick at gas stations buying coffee without a blink as dont want to use a thermos?
