NISSAN NAVARA 4X4 D21 GEARBOX REPAIR PROBLEMS

WITH THE 4X4 DIESEL POWERED TD27 ENGINE

The Nissan Navara 4x4 Diesel powered is one fo the best 4x4s. The downside on the earlier models was the gearbox but later models are an easy fit to replace.

ST. DX and STD. are models with all sorts of engine options & accessories. The four wheel drive Dual Cab Navara is available as both a DX and an ST which is fitted with the new large capacity 3.2 litre diesel engine. The DX, is a four cylinder petrol powered Navara. The ST, on the other hand, in addition to featuring the large capacity diesel powerplant is fitted with a greater level of standard equipment items.

The DX model Navara, is fitted with the Nissan KA24 model engine. The engine utilises electronic fuel injection and a single overhead camshaft to produce a lively 93 kW of power at 5200 rpm and a useful 198 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm for towing loads. But we are ionterested in supplying parts as from 2015 for all Navara's but specializing in the 90s models.  

Using a jack to remove gearbox and slide out. We took the transfer case off first as this whole unit is heavy

In NZ Navaras are a second to the Toyota Hilux in price but even an older 86 Dual cab Navara wil go around $2000 --$3000 in good condition petrol and for a 4x4 diesels the prices for early 90s models run up to $6500 as in 2014. So they are popular especially the 4x4 as NZ is a popular place for 4x4s now. There are many Terranos in NZ and these are good transplants but the 2 wheel drive boxes do not fit the 4x4s. In the 4x4 the starter motor is on the drivers side facing forward as against the petrol motors with opposit side bellhousing.
