USA : States with the highest jobless rates are getting less money per person under the federal stimulus program than states with below-average unemployment.

The above is a job fair for people looking for work in USA

NZ Beneficiaries & Unemployment will it spiral out of control??

Paula Bennit the National ex Member of Parliament is trying her hardest to play down the unemployment but as the questions arise about too many people for too long have been on the benefits something must be done. Now Labour is allowing more refigees etc & Peters is there for his own ego and not for those who voted for him.

Now we also have many elderly on the Super Pension that do not need it yet this will never be means tested so for those on the unemployment benefit who must now look for work instead of bludging on the system its time for a realization check. Fair enough if some have been on benefit for over 5 years sure time to get off as this has been enough time for one to get a job.

But, many of these folk are unemployable or unskilled in the work thats out there but we have a lot of gorse to cut and there are ways where they can be supervised. Those who are well over wieght should have benefits cut in efforts to curb their obesity like the lady below?? so what does one do. Will

National didnt create jobs -- no way as they have cut the training schemes already. Will they means test those who have been on the dole longer than 5 years --- for sure. Its a hard one to deal with but in Asia they have no dole yet everyone will work --Ok large populations also and many sell at markets etc paying no tax but this is the benefit of living in Asia and it could never work in NZ. Could families combine to help each other or be made to help each other anf maybe the benefits should be reduced if more than 2 pople in one family are on the dole? Should we limit the amount of immigrants coming into NZ taking all our jobs?? you check the airports etc and number of immigrants working at the airports?? or driving taxis etc in Wellington? or the number oif foreign owend takeaways, cafes etc

Existing mortgages, cost of living and accustomed living standards prevent Kiwi wages from falling to levels that would be competitive with Asia & China. Kiwis have to seek work in their next best alternative when they lose their well-paying manufacturing and high-tech knowledge and service jobs to foreigners. When jobs move out, skills move with them. At the rate at which the NZ is losing factory jobs, for example, how much longer will it be when more factories are gone as NZ costs spiral and make it not competitive anymore? When manufacturing jobs are lost, so are jobs in transport, warehousing, banking and insurance. There is a chain effect that reduces the overall productivity of NZ as a location of economic activity. It is being replaced by Management in overdrive with more bosses and divisions in everything from District Councils to area Health etc than their are Indians (workers) & as more businesses use Oracle software systems computers are taking over from people. Its going to continue as as our farms get cut up for lifestyle blocks nothing becomes viable to produce as the costs far outweight the profits. It also means less jobs out there.

The collapse of world socialism changed circumstances overnight. Our NZ labor now faces direct competition in global labor markets. The excess supply of labor in these markets will drive down wages, salaries and employment in NZ. As the dollar is likely to lose value under pressure from our growing trade deficit, the decline in wages will not be compensated by a decline in prices, and Kiwi living standards will fall. Faced with this NZ has a challenge as the costs for keeping its population on benefits including the Pension scheme needs to be viewed as well as the unnecessary divisions of management that are well over the moon.

COULD EMPLOYERS PAY MORE:??

Paula Rebstock an economist, says employers need to be more actively involved in managing their workers' health issues helpimg them to get back to work quickly after an illness. Yeah easy to say this crap?
